Relieve Stress Naturally With Herbal Teas

Stress has been my twin since giving birth to my five kids. Loud crying all over the household, throwing tantrums the entire day, dirty clothes and toys everywhere, and a lot more. Tell me who would have not get stressed with my situation. The fact that I am also helping my husband running our small T-shirt Printing Business and I also accepts freelance jobs on the side, many have thought that I am not sleeping anymore, I have the superpowers, and the list goes on. Well the secret is keeping positive, praying all the time asking for strength, and today, I have plans of trying to drink herbal teas.

Despite the wide availability of modern medications, I still opt going back to basics and take herbal medicines especially in combating stress. Below are some of the herbal teas for stress I want to try.

Chamomile – chamomile is a herb that has the ability to reduce nausea and indigestion. In fact, chamomile is best known for these healing abilities. It also has the ability to soothe the nerves making you feel calm and relaxed. Hyperactive individuals will definitely benefit the soothing effect of chamomile as it will help stabilized their mood. In addition, a cup of chamomile tea will help you enjoy a good night sleep keeping you free from insomnia.

Ginseng – ginseng is known for its ability to clear any mental exhaustion and relieve stress immediately making it one of the most popular herbal tea ingredients at present. A cup of ginseng tea will help you feel calm and more peaceful and it helps you enjoy a good night sleep. This herb may taste bitter but it can taste best when blended with herbs that perfectly matched with it like hibiscus flowers, orange peel, and logan fruit. Relieve stress too by having a delicious winter spice tea with mountain rose herbs along with Siberian ginseng, cinnamon, orange peel and ginger.

Mint – due to its remarkable aromatic flavor, Mint is another popular herbal tea that helps relieve stress. Adding some mint tea like peppermint and spearmint to your tea will help you relax your mind. Other than helping you relax your mind, mints are also good in combating stomach upset. Mint is one of the most popular tea flavors among others.

Skullcap – Skullcap is one of the known herbal teas that will help relaxed your mind and keep your stress level at bay. Skullcap has the ability to relax those tensed muscles you have and reduce muscle spasms. It can also calm your nerves and reduce headaches. Other than its ability to reduce muscle spasm, it also helps in slowing down Premenstrual Syndrome or PMS in women making it a perfect tea for women especially when Aunt Flo visits.

Lavender – the aroma of lavender is very soothing making it a perfect recipe for your stress relieving tea. Lavender is known for its ability to reduce exhaustion of the nervous system as well as headache arising from stress and anxiety. Like any other teas, lavender is also good for indigestion. Lavender is also perfect to match with other herbal teas too. One will surely love how taking lavender helps ease the occurrence of symptoms including anxiety, indigestion, irritability, nervous exhaustion and tension headache.

When drinking teas, I love drinking it as it is but, if you hate the taste it brings, you can enhance it with some sweeteners including;

  • Honey
  • White sugar
  • Sugar cubes
  • Peppermint candy pieces
  • Brown sugar
  • Orange slices
  • Lemon slices
  • Lime slices
  • Stevia
